SLICE

While you were out, I counted the tiles in the kitchen. It was summer. There was no grass on the front lawn.

I took a cold shower. The light that came through the window made me weep.

Salt and vinegar chips stung the cut on my lip. I walked through the house. I wore no shoes. I thought a bit about ladybugs.

That was a Thursday afternoon.

We can’t be direct so we end up saying the weirdest things. We watch a movie. You show me a photograph. We fall asleep.

When autumn hits you are in love.

I pee outside in the garden at night. I mend the holes in my socks. They are blue.

35mm film, 2015
